Alpha Connect Day

Qualifying Entrants

1.The Event is open only to residents of Cambodia, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. For the avoidance of doubt, foreigners living in Cambodia, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka with a local residential address may participate in the Event. 

2.Registration must be submitted via the online submission form https://alpha-connect-day.cameralk.com/. Any other forms of submission will not be accepted. 

3.Registration will close once the maximum number of sign-ups (as determined by Sony in its sole discretion) have been reached.

4.By registering for the Event, you agree to indemnify Sony against any and all claims in relation to your participation of this Event and breach of its Terms and Conditions contained herein. Sony’s rights are hereby expressly reserved.

5.Employees of Sony and its affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies of Sony together with their employees, and immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each of the aforesaid persons are not eligible to participate in this Event.  

6.Sony reserves the right to disqualify and/or exclude any entries from the Event, for any reason and for no reason, including without limitation, violation of any portion of these Terms and Conditions. 

Event Rules

1.The Event is a competition that comprises two categories. All participants must select only one Event category: “Photo” or “Video”.

2.Participants can use any brand of digital camera during the Event. Drones are not allowed.

3.Storage format accepted are CF / SD / MMC / XD / MS formats. Participants using other formats must supply their own relevant adaptors / drives. Sony shall not be held liable for the inability to read / download images / loss of images.

4.All submitted photographs must be taken on 22nd of March 2025 while video content can be taken once the theme is released 1 day earlier from the event day.

5.Only 1 photo/video submission is allowed per theme. There will be 1 photo theme and 1 video theme only.

6.Submitted photographs/videos must not be altered by any editing software.

7.Participants must submit their entries personally. No proxy submission by any participant is allowed during the event.

8.Sony will not be responsible for providing photographic equipment including camera, spare batteries, lenses or additional memory cards. All participants are expected to come prepared with all their photographic equipment.

9.No changes to participants’ submissions will be allowed once the participant provides the file to the organizers.

10.You shall hold Sony and all of its officers, directors and employees free and harmless from any liability arising from claims or suits of third parties, including costs and expenses incidental thereto, in connection with the use of the Event entry.

Photo Category

1.Participants will receive photo theme before 9.30am SLST on 22nd March 2025 and will proceed to explore the area (no set location, participants are allowed to go anywhere to shoot at their own discretion).

2.Participants must submit their photo by 1.45pm SLST on 22nd Mar 2025.

3.All photographs submitted must be in JPEG format.

4.There is no limit on the file size.

5.Submitted photographs must not be altered by any editing software.

Video Category

1.Participants will receive the videography theme at 2.30pm SLST on 21st Mar 2025, 1 day before the actual event.

2.Participants must submit their video by 1.45pm SLST on 22nd Mar 2025. 

3.All videos submitted must be in XAVC S, XAVC HS, MOV, AVI format.

4.Video resolution should not be higher than 1080p and aspect ratio should be 16:9.

5.There is no limit on the file size.

6.The length of the video must be 1 minute or shorter.

7.Only the first 1 minute of the video will be judged if the video length is longer than 1 minute.

8.Voice over, background music, basic cutting, basic transitions (Black and White Fade in, fade out, and cross dissolve transitions), combing of footage is allowed.

9.Special effect, color editing is not permitted.

Event Entries

1. By registering for the Event, each participant thereby (a) specifically authorizes Sony & CameraLK to use and/or license third parties to use, without compensation, gain or rewards, a non-exclusive and irrevocable license to use, republish, edit and/or modify the Event entries in any media for marketing and promotional purposes which include but not limited to publication at Sony & CameraLK’s store; (b) represents and warrants that all elements contained in the Event entry (i) is original to the participant or fully cleared for use as contemplated herein, (ii) does and will not, in any way, violate or breach any of the terms of any other agreement the participant may be a party to, (iii) does not contain libelous, tortuous, or the publication or sale of which will violate any federal or state statute or regulation, (iv) is not obscene or in any other manner unlawful, and (v) shall not require Sony & CameraLK to pay or incur any sums to any person or entity as a result of Sony & CameraLK's use or exploitation of the same. You shall also indemnify and hold harmless Sony & CameraLK and its affiliates from and against any claim, action, damage, loss and costs and expenses (including legal fees and professional fees) arising from or in connection with any breach of the foregoing.

2. Winners shall agree to be contacted by Sony & CameraLK or its authorized representatives to participate in public relations events tied to the Event to generate press coverage of the Event and the accessories range. This may include, but not be limited to, quotes given for inclusion in press releases and press conferences, interviews, etc.

3. Sony & CameraLK reserves the right to disqualify all entries that do not meet the rules and regulations of the Event. These include entries submitted with invalid or incorrect information.

4. Unfair or unethical methods of participation may result in disqualification.

5. Sony & CameraLK ’s decision for all Winners is final.
